Start the pull without a surge
When you move to the front, do not add a sudden 50–100 watts. The group should feel the same pace with a different rider leading.
Leave the front smoothly
Move aside by the agreed pattern, ease the effort and return to the line without sharp braking.
Smoothness matters most
A short steady pull is better than a long heroic one. If you are tired, skip the turn and say it early.
